Store inspector for Shopify stores
See what a rival store launched and repriced
Open a Shopify store, click Storeprobe, and read its public catalogue as a list of changes since your last visit: new products, markdowns, price moves, stock. The history stays on your computer.
Free for one store at a time. No account, no card, nothing uploaded.

What one click does
It is a short list, and the limits are written into the extension.
- click
You open a store and click Storeprobe
Nothing is read until you click. The extension holds no permission for any website, so it sees only the one tab you use it on.
- pages 1 to 10
One catalogue request per page, to that store only
It asks the store’s own
/products.jsonfor 250 products at a time, at most 10 pages, so at most 2,500 products. There are 500 ms between pages. - stop
A refusal ends the read
Anything other than a plain 200 stops it: a 429, a 403, a bot-check page in place of the catalogue. A half-read catalogue is thrown away, so a cut-short read never passes for products a store removed.
- saved
The read is kept in your browser
It is stored in the extension’s own storage and compared with your previous read of the same store. Nothing is sent anywhere, and there is no account.
What you get back
Each read becomes a dated entry. Prices stay as the store prints them; an old price is struck through and a launch carries a red tag. The entries below are an invented example.

Both price changes were markdowns that set a “was” price on the product. Storeprobe marks when a markdown starts, changes or ends.

First read of the store
214 products stored. A first read has nothing to compare against, so it shows the catalogue and the newest launches.
Free shows the current catalogue and what changed since your last read. The list of older reads is part of Pro.
Free and Pro
Free is a working tool, not a demo. Pro adds memory across several stores.

What it cannot tell you
No sales numbers
A public catalogue lists products, prices and whether a variant is in stock. It does not list orders, so Storeprobe shows no revenue and no sales estimate. It shows a product that was in stock and no longer is.
Only open catalogues
A store that hides /products.json answers 404, and one behind a bot check answers with a page instead of data. Storeprobe stops and tells you which it was.
A short list of apps
Apps are recognised from the script hosts a page loads, against a short list of well-known ones such as Klaviyo, Judge.me and Loox. Hosts it does not know are listed as hosts.
One store, one tab
It reads the tab you click on. It does not crawl, schedule or poll in the background.
Questions
Where do the stores I read go?
Into your browser’s extension storage, and nowhere else. The catalogue travels from the store to your browser. Two things can leave your computer, and only when you ask: a licence key when you activate Pro, and a suggestion when you press Send. The privacy policy lists both.
Is it allowed to read another store’s catalogue?
The catalogue is public, and Storeprobe asks for it once per click with pauses between pages. Shopify’s merchant terms prohibit accessing its services with robots or other automated means, and whether that covers reading a public storefront from a browser has not been tested. You decide whether to use it on a given store.
Why only 2,500 products?
One read is capped at 10 pages of 250. On a larger catalogue the read is marked partial, so a product that is missing may only be unread, and it is not reported as removed.
What happens when the trial or a pass ends?
Your saved stores stay on your computer. Only the Pro features switch off, and they come back with a pass.
Does it work on Firefox and Edge?
It is built for Chrome, Edge and Firefox. The store buttons on this page link to each listing as it goes live.
How is it different from Koala Inspector or PPSPY?
Those sell monthly plans. Storeprobe keeps its history on your computer and plans a one-time pass. The comparison says which claims are reported and which are not checked.
