Storeprobe: Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-05

What the extension does

When you click it on a Shopify store, it reads that store's public product catalogue, compares it with your previous read of the same store, and shows what was launched, repriced or went out of stock. It reads only the tab you clicked on.

What happens to the stores you read

Nothing leaves your computer. The catalogue goes from the store to your browser, and Storeprobe keeps it in your browser's extension storage. It does not send the stores you read, their products or their prices to any server, and it has no analytics, no advertising and no account.

The extension asks for three permissions. Storage keeps your reads. Active tab and scripting let it read the tab you click on, and nothing until you do. It holds no permission for any website.

What one read requests

One click makes at most 10 requests, 250 products each, to the products list of the store in the tab, with 500 ms between them. They go to that store and to nobody else. The store sees them the way it sees any visit from your browser.

Data stored on your computer

This data lives in your browser's extension storage. Uninstalling the extension deletes it. A CSV file you export is a normal file in your Downloads folder and is not deleted with the extension. The extension's settings page lists the stored stores and removes any of them.

Data that leaves your computer

Nothing, unless you take one of two actions.

In Firefox, the extension declares these two as optional data collection, and Firefox asks you before either is sent.
